Really alot easier than I thought... looks so good!

Looks great!
Did you use a soldering iron or do it with just pliers, etc.?
|
I used a soldering iron and pliers. Once i got everything ready, it was very easy....didnt even have to line the hole with foil....
|
FYI, Suncoast is selling the 550 red rear tail lights reduced at $139 for those looking to deamber tail lights.
|
good deal, i no longer have any amber on the car....
|

Kyle, looks so nice and clean. How far in do you have to reach before you encounter the amber plastic? Just what holds the amber in place anyway? Thanks for your posting. AKL  |
Did you hold the amber lense with pliers and then melt it away so no pieces dropped? Did you let the pieces drop after melting them off?

Looks good Kyle. Apparently I made the job sound more challenging that it really is, or maybe you're just that much better than me ;) We'll assume the former :D

i think there might be some confusion about this process. the original assembly on vehicles < 2003 can't have the "amber" removed as it's actually the plastic that is yellow:
http://www.partsgeek.com/assets/rep/...86-1057265.jpg you must start with the lights from a 2003, or the litronics, which is clear in the turn signal with the amber glued to the reflector: http://www.partsgeek.com/assets/rep/...85-1058317.jpg if i am misunderstanding, PLEASE let me know. |
