www.bumperplugs.com is one of the very best Porsche vendors I have purchased from in my entire 6 years of Porsche ownership. Eric is a great asset to the Porsche community. Excellent quality and customer service.

The process is pretty simple. Just check his web site. Order in the color you want. Pay a refundable core exchange, when you put the painted ones on, you send him yours for the core exchange. I think the cost is about $250.

A great and simple mod. Makes the car look "fresh" and updated.

They look fantastic! Eric did mine about 6 years ago and they still look like new.
I agree with Flavor 987S; Bumperplugs does great work and offers great customer service. Eric is a true Porschephile.

A few of the 986Forum "old timers" (Randall, Derb, Sammy, NickCats, Yellowbox and about 12 others) will also remember that Eric at Bumperplugs graciously donated some very nice door prizes for our very first Tail Of The Dragon run in the Spring of 2007.

It was simple, I live here in town and stopped by on a Friday afternoon, I initially just wanted to look at a steering wheel I knew he had from a post I just happened to find from 6 months ago. Once I saw his work I ended up walking out with a bundle (Steering Wheel, Bumper Plugs, Door Plug, and ordered Painted Bumperettes). Eric sent me an email and offered to package em up and and send the short distance, I was like forget that I'll swing by on the way to work and save the shipping. I installed them in 3 minutes in the parking lot...of course I was just excited to get them.
One of my favorites is the driver door key lock plug, really nice look. The funny thing is I had painted my own center console and it looks great, so I figured I would do my own bumperettes, I saw his center consoles compare to mine and was like heck with this I'm going to let him do the bumperettes! The paint on my car is in great shape and I've managed with proper buffing to bring back to almost new, these bumperettes match perfectly.

I will say he had lots of goodies at his office, I could spend a lot of money in there...custom colored and chrome Boxster S drunk label replacements!!

I'd like to see someone develop a flush "bumperette" instead of the ugly ass bumps that screw up the smooth rear lines of the car. I'm surprised Porsche filled in the Euro licence plate hole with two, high profile rear nipples, and black at that!! Not even an option to color code with the car. WTF?

Jaxonalden, really sharp car you have there.

I guess maybe it was/is some US regulation maybe? I donno. Can always order a new bumper, remove the bumperette braces/brackets. I think the new bumpers come without the square hole.

I took some better pics...

Thanks Whip. I painted mine also, now the eye doesn't go right to those two black nipples. I love the looks from the back, the rear fenders reminds me of a woman's hips when shes on all fours.

Love the color of your car.

I've never had mine off, but always wondered what's behind them? Would it be possible to simply take them off and add a body-colored "plug" to the holes left behind?

I take it that the "bumperettes" are a US type regulation thing.
What happens if you remove them, is it illegal to do so?

I know that your licence plates are smaller in the US but I think a blacked out panel has got to look a bit cleaner.

Or a bit different to everyone else's, that's what I did.

Just a thought.

I big old bracket to hold the bumperette, I think it is welded to the bumper...kind of stuck with them unless the brackets are removed and a new bumper is added without the cut outs.

Surprised no one has commented on my ugly pipes...any cleaning suggestions? I want them to shine.
