Nice looking car
The car looks great and flawless but your pictures are absolutedly perfect!!!!!! They look like a professional took them.
|
what about the back? it looked like you put in the all black tail lights in a previous photo.
Any plans for some grill inserts? I think the chroming/polishing the horizontal louver type grills that come on the 911 Turbo would be cool. It would be a pretty easy DIY with some door edge protector stripping. I don't really like the all mesh look. I saw a knock off front bumper like this on Ebay a few weeks back. It was being sold by some racers. Theirs was made of Carbon fiber and had a kevlar lower lip edge. Sold for about $1200 I think. a great deal. They only made one which they had to scrap because of rule changes to aero parts. How has the ride quality changed since lowering and going 18"? P.S. Looks great without the side skirting! |
Very impressive indeed. It looks like you really take good care of your sleds there. What kind of wax/polish do you use? Really dig the BBS wheels on black btw.
|
On my dialup I had to go to lunch while they loaded, but - very nice pics. Black looks perfect when polished like your's. Congrads.

Hey i had a question. Didnt you own a modifyed Black S2000 awhile back? Assuming just before you bought this 986? For some reason your username looks familiar and i think you were the guy out of the NY-Metro forum selling his BBS-LM's. I just joined this forum because well, im looking to sell my S2K for a 986S ;)

That is sick looking! I love the front bumper... you said it was a RUF cover.. for a 911 or what. Can you share where to get one? Also, what do you have going on with the rear bumper cover to match the look of the front, anything? I like the look of the car without the rocker moldings. Very nicely done!
What size wheels? Last question.. what kind of marker lamps are those? I thought they were painted black and then saw the bulb shining thru. Great job, Great pics! Kindly, Joe 01S Triple Black |
Sorry for all those dead linked pics above.. here's some more
http://www.e90post.com/forums/uploadedimages/1.jpg http://www.e90post.com/forums/upload...s/boxster5.jpg http://www.e90post.com/forums/upload...s/boxster6.jpg Thanks for the compliments. It's a RUF bumper for the 986 (perfect fit, absolute great fit and high quality polyurethane). The wheels are 18" BBS RS-GT wheels, powdercoated black and wrapped in Bridgestone Pilot Sport-2 tires. Car is lowered on Bilstein Shocks and H&R springs. Blackout/smoked tail lights and sidemarkers. |
Thanks for the welcome!
I knew that name looked familiar! :D
So how do you like the 986 compared to the S2K? Any problems associated with them other than engine failure i should research? Im going to go look at a 986S this friday and if all goes well, will be trading in the S2  |
Very late response but where did you get the RuF front bumper?
Awesome!! |
The Racer's Group used to race with RUF bumper you might give them a call and see if they have one left over. Might want to act quick since 04 was the last year they made this bumper.
|
Wow, those BBS rims make the car 10 times better
|
That's because they cost 10X's more! :D
I think he had them painted black. |
Weissach in Vancouver is having clearence sale on Ruf parts. Try giving them a call, they have lots of stock left.

Selling this bumper (and wheels) if anyone is interested:
Details: ___________________________________________ Selling the RUF bumper you see pictured in the photos below. For local pickup (located on Long Island). This is a genuine RUF bumper made of PU-R-RIM (a high quality ABS plastic type material much like stock bumpers), not cheap and easily shattered fiberglass. This retailed for $1899 (listed in RUF's catalog http://www.rufautocenter.com/parts/pdf/986.pdf) and I paid well over $2000 to have it painted and delivered to me. As to be expected from a RUF part, the fit and quality of this bumper is top notch! Install is a simple DIY and shouldn't take more than 1-2 hours. All parts simply bolts into the stock bumper bolts. I only drove approximately 10k miles with this bumper on my car and most were not highway miles. It has the usual wear associated with low bumpers and the scuffs that you see in the photos do not really stand out when viewed from a person's normal standing height/angle. Asking $900 picked-up. Contact me at jason@liu.com Here are photos of the bumper uninstalled, on my car, and some photos from RUF's site. http://www.bimmerpost.com/j/porsche/rufa.jpg http://www.bimmerpost.com/j/porsche/rufb.jpg http://www.bimmerpost.com/j/porsche/rufc.jpg http://www.bimmerpost.com/j/porsche/rufg.jpg ON MY CAR: http://www.bimmerpost.com/j/porsche/ruf1.jpg http://www.bimmerpost.com/j/porsche/ruf2.jpg http://www.bimmerpost.com/j/porsche/ruf3.jpg FROM RUF's SITE: http://www.bimmerpost.com/j/porsche/rufj.jpg http://www.bimmerpost.com/j/porsche/rufk.jpg |
Justa 'Nuther Rufster S
Hey RaceFans,
Here's a look at another RUF job......3.6L X51 conversion, PSS9s, M030s, Paget Blues, RUF tower brace, and RUF aero nose. It drives like a mid engine 996 GT3 in a little black boxster dress! My comment about the RUF nose design: It really helps cancel lift and provide stability when you are running in the triple digits. Drive On, Ike |
