My new 986

Hey all. Been tooling around the site for a few weeks now...great source of information you've got here. Just got into my first Porsche a few weeks ago...have always wanted one, but never thought I'd have the means. It's an 02 "S" with 21,000 miles, Litronics, and stock 17"s (for now). Upgraded the sidemarkers, tails and the shifter (to a B&M) so far. As for the rear plate, it's nostalgic. I've been in the VDub tuning scene for years, but I still consider myself part of the [extended] family.

very nice car, and great looking color.
i hope you have plans in future for a drop and some wheels (and removal of that yellow eyesore up front).

hahaha...I was waiting for someone to flame the euro plate. Unfortunately, VA requires a front plate so the bumper is already drilled. The euro plate looks better than the required VA and I can clip the state one on and off whenever I want. Been pulled over one too many times for no front plate.

Simple solution until I figure something else out (like a Show & Go plate holder and bumper plugs).

Thanks for the comments :)

congrats! where you get the led tails from?

Congrats on your car. New York requires front plates too but i can't bring myself to install mine. Got a ticket once and i'm sure it'll happen again. Until then I'm enjoying the clean look with my turbo style front bumper.

Wondering how you like the LED tail lights and where you got them. I want to replace my stock ones, and am debating between LED and 2003+ style clear/red.
