I'm too lazy to clean the car so I don't drive it in the rain... guess I'm out of this one.

Thumbs up Death Valley at Warp Speed

Hey Guys,

The photo is mediocre, but the adventure that went with it was epic.

I live in the Siberia of North America.....Wyoming. The average wind chill in January and February is below zero. Right, my weather station readings: Average wind for month X Average Temperature during month = -0 on the wind chill chart!

So in early Feb of 2006 I headed out in my Boxster S to the hottest place in the States....Death Valley. Dang it, I was going to thaw out. My alarm went off at 5 am in my seedy motel room in Beatty Nevada. I drank a pot of coffee, put the top down in the 68 degree air, aaaaaaaaaah, fired the motor and headed for the Death Valley National Park. Nobody home at the toll booth, I like this! I took this snappy as the sun rose over the park. I traveled the next 100 miles of winding 2 lane through the absolutely deserted park at speeds and g forces that pushed me and my Porshe to the limit.

I was in drivers heaven, and I was smokin' hot.

Bacon

Hey now,

Drivin' out of the lowest, hottest spot in North America was like working in a convection oven with a 90 mph/90 degree bake on. I pulled over, grabbed an icy drink out of my cooler and enjoyed the sweat drying off my back. I took a few snappies as my S ticked and snapped as it cooled down too.

Happy Trails,
Ike
