Boxster w/19" HRE 540Rs GHL Exhaust and B & B Headers

Hi everyone,

1998 Boxster w/ 19" HRE 540R Black Center Wheels, 235/35/19 and 275/30/19 Continental Sport Contact 2s. Stock Height. Also, GHL Exhaust and B & B Headers.

Requesting your advise on lowering car or leaving stock height. Call me crazy but I was considering lowering just the front with H & R Springs.

Best regards,

Junior

Thats what I wanted to do just lower the front with my eibac springs the rear looks fine the front sits to high a few people said not to just lower the front that it would throw it of balance I still have to install them

Lower is Better

Hey Guys,

I put Bilstein PSS9s and M030 sways on my 2003 S and dropped it almost 2". It still has rake from front to back. The handling quality is terrific. The M030s keep it flat as a go-Kart. If a base boxster is a 5, stock boxster S a 7, then the current package is a 9! I have adjusted the Bilstein damping to 3 on the front to dampen rebound, and left the rear at the 5 setting so that I can hook the power up past the apex.

My wife gave me the gears saying that the ride would be too harsh. But she has now been a passenger to a radical 2 lane mountain excursion and thinks that the PSS9s are a better ride than stock. (wheww)

The Boxster can give you extreme levels of performance if you want to put the right stuff on the corners. Don't stop at a set of front springs if you want to throw your bad boy around!

Hasta,
Ike

JMO But if you are gonna lower the car, do both ends. The car has a balance that, when upset can become a handfull. Ever been in a 911 when the back end lets go? well the Boxster can do the same thing if the forward rake is too much.

Boxster dropped w/H & R Spring Specs.

Hello everyone,

Finally dropped boxster w/ H & R Springs. It looks fantastic! My concern was I didnt want the rear to sit lower than front and considered dropping the front only. But this forum thought me otherwise. The results are as follows.

1" drop on front

1/2" drop on rear. Yes 1/2". reason: probably because the original springs (1998) were pretty "flatten" maybe. but definately happy with outcome.

The car looks great. It looks just a tiny bit lower in front (love that)

Rd400rz you might want to sell the eibachs and get H & R since we have the same views of drop.

You will love it!

I will post pictures later.

Thank you all for your input.
