Pics of new 987 S (finally)

I took delivery on Feb. 29 and finally took a few pics after adding a few personal touches. Thus far the car has been a joy and as the miles go on it seems to be loosing up a bit (easier to shift, etc.).

Looks great Bob!

Did you paint the wheel center caps yourself?

I like the Cayman wheels on the Boxster more so then on the Cayman. Nice choice.

Thanks. The Cayman S wheels are nice although the spokes are kinda wide but better than the stock ones IMO.

I had Eric at Bumper Plugs do the wheel center caps for me - outstanding quality. I debated doing them in Black but am glad I chose Red to match the car.

Eric also did the side vents and I did the exhaust surround piece myself since he did not recommend it due to heat issues; however, it is holding up fine.

Can't really tell the exhaust surround piece that you mentioned from your pictures. Are you talking about the U shaped Piece right about your exhaust tips?

Yeah, hard to see in the pic but if it were not painted it would stick out like a sore thumb - upside down U shaped piece that fits between the bumper and exhaust tip. It was a silver color, which clashed with the Red & Black.

Well done, Bob. I know you worked hard to make this a very special car.

Us Porsche owners sure know how to find the best parking spots!!

bob - the car looks great! I am a fan of the gauges....not so much the cayman rims but I don't like those on the cayman either...

I will say its great that you did your vents and side markers so I don't have to chime in with do your vents and side markers

That is what I like about these cars - one can personalize them and make them their own. Some like the Red gauges, some don't...same for the Cayman S wheels. Needless to say I like it just the way it is; however, if I had to order it again I would get the rollbar painted Guards Red. Options can add up pretty fast though and my car is pretty basic (sticker was just under $61k).

Yes, the tires are Michelin PS2s.

Yes, the options can add up pretty quickly. I really liked though that I could order specifically the ones I wanted and nothing else. When I tried searching for a car that had all the things I specifically wanted, the only ones that came close had a bunch of other stuff I didn't care about that drove the cost up a lot.

Since some people enjoy the guards red gauges, I thought I'd show what they look like from the driver's perspective.

Cheers
