I've got to be a little patient... The body shop was going to install the side skirts and paint everything last week, but they didn't make much progress. They're targeting having it complete by this Wednesday so that I can have the car all ready on Friday for a trip to the coast. I'll hopefully get some good pics there (Northern California coast and Red Woods). We'll see if I really get the car back in time. :rolleyes:

Hahaha... are you kidding me? No way man. In fact I'm getting more carbon fiber for the car. I've ordered the Kokeln ram air ducts in carbon fiber too. No word on when those are shipping though. Oh you're just gonna hate it. Just wait until you see the clear LED tail lights, clear LED third brake light, and chrome license plate cover! :D I know there are going to be a lot of haters, but it's the look that I like....

I'm personally not real keen on that particular wing on eBay. I like the Fiberwerks Daytona wing, and yes they'll make me one in carbon fiber. I'm waiting to decide on that later though. I'd like to see what the car looks like without a wing first. I think the lines of the Boxster a pretty nice in the rear without a wing...

Eventually I'll probably get the CF mirror housings - when money permits, but then that's it for CF goodies - hood, side vents, mirrors, and maybe rear wing. I'm staying away from putting any CF in the interior as I know that can very quickly expand and turn into a $3,000 investment just to make the car look pretty inside.

I'm a big fan of Gemballa, but you might be on the verge of needing some of this.

My body parts are painted and going on the car this weekend. Some other "issues" came up at the body shop though. It looks like they did a lil' whoopsie and accidentally sprayed part of a fender that wasn't supposed to be sprayed. I'll be on the phone with the owner tomorrow. Meanwhile, here are a couple pics of the finished parts. They still need to be wet sanded and buffed by the body shop once installed on the car and the paint has fully cured/hardened.

BTW, Thumper you are absolutely right. Just wait until you see the clear LED tail lights - TOTALLY RICE. I saw that when Z-Art first introduced them here the reaction was very negative. I'm sure I'll get the same response. :p

Kirk, the cars coming along well, are you going to route the exhaust out the openings of the bumper or in the center?

Do what you want to the car when I did mine I got so many negatives and now all i get are ataboys.

Yes, the exhaust I have on the car now is a Gemballa GT unit that re-routes the exhaust tips to the middle (vertically) of the bumper, so they won't come out at the bottom anymore.

That Gemballa rear bumper and exhaust is by far one of the best looking aftermarket setups made. It should sound really, really good too.

Okay... here ya go - pictures of the car almost complete (for now). Next week the body shop is going to buff out the paint and install the Gemballa side skirts. I'll also install the lower spoiler for the front bumper. Plus I'm expecting some carbon fiber Kokeln side scoops in the mail. Those items should finish out the car for now. :p

Very well done. Not too keen on the carbon hood being unpainted (personally I would paint the top side and leave the underhood side as exposed carbon).

Sorry, I didn't get any pics of the exhaust itself before the install. It's pretty big and heavy though, no weight improvement over stock.

No resonance. The only issue I have is some kind of vibration only on the left side. I think the exhaust outlet is hitting the metal bumper (under the bumper cover) on that side at very low RPMs. Other than that though there are no issues with objectionable noise.

It sounds just slightly louder than stock. It does not have an aggressive sound, which was a disappointment to me. No power increase that I can tell.

I've said this before and I'll say it again... if you don't want resonance in your exhaust you've got to go with something that has resonance chambers, like the stock exhaust. The smaller, light weight, straight-through, and loud designs that are out there are simply going to have resonance because of the way they're made. I like this exhaust because it doesn't have an annoying resonance, but it is heavy and not nearly loud enough for my taste. With the Gemballa bumper though you don't really have an option.
