sports car get together

I spend much of my free time hanging out with guys and girls from chicagolandsportbikes.com. Usually we go on rides, but sometimes we bring out our cages to play.

Sunday I organized a "Cage Day" where I led some of them on a route normally traveled by us on our bikes.

14 said they'd go and 7 showed up.

'70 Vette
'06 Vette
'07 BMW 335xi
'07 Mazda Speed6
'05 MINI
'04 Subaru STI
and of course my Boxster S.

I know technically the 4-doors are sportscars, but the BMW was very impressive. That thing cornered much better than the Vettes and was able to keep up with me. The older Vette was fishtailing a lot and the Mazda sometimes had trouble keeping up. I'm sure a lot of this was due to the drivers and not the cars.

Is the Vette a 427 or 454 by chance? Is the third car back a STX? I just saw a EVO up close for the first time a few weeks back. Pretty cool car.

Do you mean Sti?

The black one is a Subaru STI, not an STX.

The black Vette has a smaller engine than a 427, I believe, but the owner is building a 454 for it.
