New Mods woo hoo

Just got it back from the shop

Added a precision porsche turbo look bumper (urethane one) and t/a style side skirts. Also pulled off the trunk badging. Only things left are to de-amber the headlights and find the rims I want (looking for black).

The front bumper pic isn't that great since I have really bad angle on it (looking down and too close but you get the idea).

How is the quality of the Precision Porsche bumper?

blkboxster 08-13-2007 03:33 PM

imo, the quality dosent looks to great, + your headlights + wheels, need to change,

What would you base that on?

looks great!!

What brand of side-skirts are you using?

ezeks 08-13-2007 03:51 PM

blkboxster is probably basing the fitment off the first pic. It does look really off there but that is really a product of the angle of the pic. The gap is actually really good but the bumper flares quickly (by design) so it looks like there is a gap from that angle. I'll try and take a better pic later.

Overally quality is probably a 7/10. It didn't have the film that most urethane bumpers do covering it, but it did require a lot of prep time as there were too many air bubbles in the grill area etc that required prep time. Overall quality is better than any fiberglass I have seen as far as gap fitment but still not perfect.

Side skirts are from precision porsche as well, side note they didn't require nearly as much prep time to paint as I expected.

I think it looks pretty nice. I like the way the front bumper and the side skirts flow together.

djomlas 08-13-2007 08:58 PM

i like it man, black wheels will really set it off. the only thing that i don't like is the bench spoiler thing on your trunk.
nice car.

Just a note I've visitied Percision Porsche and EVERYTHING they make is FIBERGLASS. They don't make urethane parts. Your bumper is Fiberglass.

ezeks 08-14-2007 03:59 AM

It is urethane, it is the exact same part as 996NSP07 from Fiberwerks. Take a look at the website it is the turbo look with the OEM grills, no it does not say it is fiberglass but ask and they will tell you.

You can tell a big difference between Urethane and FRP when you pick it up. This Urethane bumper was more flexible than the stock one and flexing agent was added to the paint and clear coat to make sure it doesn't crack.

Looks really nice! Enjoy!

NIck, for some reason it looks better on black car.
on yellow, i dunno....

porsche986spyder 08-14-2007 07:22 AM

Car looks great! But I'm not that crazy about that particular spoiler either. I tad bit too big and too far away from the rear end. But that's just my opinion. Other than that, it looks very nice. Better than leaving your car stock so it looks like everyone elses. ;)

ezeks 08-19-2007 11:59 AM

updating a pic or 2

adding in another pic that has a little better pic of fitment. Overall not too bad, about as good as you are going to get with aftermarket parts.

SC986 08-19-2007 12:14 PM

I really like the front bumper, nice lines and clean looking. I would love to have those rear diffusors!

Never thought I'd say this, but bring the amber side markers back -unless you plan on getting clear headlights. Yellow is one of the few colors that amber looks acceptable with.

Looks good! Can't you hear her SCREAMING for 18s?

No...I just deambered mine and it looks sooooo much better. night and day. :p

Hey Ezeks,

I just bought the same front bumper from Precision Porsche. It is Poly for sure. I was surprised at how flexible it was/is. Thought I got ripped off. My body shop guy says it's fine and will work good. Looking forward to getting it back.
I didn't order the skirts but think I probably will
Your car looks great. Congrats!

Don't get me wrong, I'm a fan of de-ambering all the way, but since he's still got amber in the headlights, it would balance out better with the orange markers.

Once the new headlights arrive, he can go back to the smoked look.
