Can we get a factory build sheet?

[/FONT]I bought my '03 S... experienced (9600 miles) earlier this month. I don't have the original documentation. I had heard there was a way to request a "build sheet" or what used to be called a cardex from Porsche using the VIN number and a fee. I'd like to know what's in my Box, so I was wondering if anyone had stumbled across a way to request the original option or code list on a car.

Yes, you can order an official Porsche Tequipment Certificate of Authenticity from here:

http://www.porsche.com/filestore.aspx/default.pdf?pool=usa&type=download&id=1ae0ec77-7a5b-4245-9fbb-2e1a4d4e702d&lang=none&filetype=default

They are $95. If you're a PCA member, you can save $10 off that.

"Certificate of Authenticity

We are pleased to offer you a Certificate of Authenticity for your
Porsche. This valuable document includes your vehicles original factoryinstalled
options, exterior and interior color, engine number and
transmission number, production completion date (Birth Date) if available
and manufacturer’s suggested retail price (MSRP) if available.

This can prove to be invaluable for restoration, resale and for displaying
your Porsche at official Porsche concourse events, such as the annual
Porsche Club Parade. Certificates do not include production number,
selling dealer, previous owners, warranty history, standard equipment,
and technical information. It will only include the information listed above."

You can also get the options originally on your car from under the front hood on the build sticker. Your local dealer or websites will help you decode what was originally on the car.
