I'm no expert but I'm thinking the only way gas can get into the oil is a leaking injector or maybe a very rich running motor. Maybe the oil you're using just smells that way?

I completely opened up the front of the frunk down to the floor pan. Below the radiator is one big scoop. The air then exits out the vents on the hood or back at the cowl. Mostly the cowl.

Congrats. I never noticed a hump before but maybe I'll need to look closer. You may need to mount it and then take a heat gun to it to soften it up some so you can reshape it.

There's a small bolt that holds the bottom. That bolt usually has a glob of seam joint on it that keeps it from coming out. My guess is that fender has been replaced at one time in it's life
