Got a flat tire - how to use Porsche tools?

OK, so I got a flat and had some issue with the Porsche tools. The jack I more or less figured out, but how exactly do you take the lug bolts out?

There seems to be 2 pieces in the...

I actually don't feel that the Boxster is really missing much compared to the 911 on the "car" level, i.e removing any 911 star power or allure.

First, the interiors of the Boxsters...

I just did the air filter and serpentine belt myself.

Not too hard when following the DIY posts, but getting to the engine on this car is a big job the first time you do it! So many layers of...

Yeah - trust me, I am far from the inexperienced guy who buys a cheap Porsche and then regrets it. I went through this already with the Mercedes when I was younger - and learned from it.

A bit worried about long term costs and reliability - should I be?

I have a newer 335i and 12' Prius, and recently I got a nice condition 2001 Boxster with 54k miles as a fun car to drive that's manual, as my BMW is steptronic.

It's a low mileage 986, and in...

The only car I ever had to tow 2-3 times was my 2001 Mercedes S55 AMG. Wonderful car, but woefully unreliable and expensive to maintain.

Brake switch replace tips?

I want to replace the brake light switch above the brake pedal. What's the best way to position your body to access it?

Is it possible to remove the knee dash area? And how to unplug the harness?

I own a 2008 335i and a 2001 Boxster.

I bought my 335i with only 10k miles, CPO. It's actually been extremely reliable. It had all of the recalls done. The HPFP is covered by a big warranty...

So for a few times now, when I had the car parked for a day or so, and I turn it on, the PSM and ABS off light both come on.

They come on as soon as I release the parking brake. I noticed...

I was going to just replace the window, but I think I...

You can definitely find them under $25k, I've even seen some 2006's and 2007's that low.

It seems like it's best to stay away from the 2005's, as those seem to be more prone to IMS...

That's true about every manufacturer having issues, but Porsche seems too quiet on this subject. At least BMW had recalls for the HPFP issues and extended the warranties greatly.

As a new owner, I've had all of my many questions answered quickly and by a lot of people.

So it's a great forum - not as big as the BMW e90post, but Boxsters are less produced anyway.
