If the relay clicks but the horns don't sound it...
If the relay clicks but the horns don't sound it sounds like the horns are dead or disconnected. Try pressing the horn buttons & see if you are getting power to the connectors on the horns.

I would try changing the trans oil first, use the Porsche oil. It made a difference in mine with 120k espescially on the cold shift from first to second. Take a good look at what you drain out also.

Yes the 997 shifter will work in your car. I have an '01 5 speed and this is the best way to get a much improved shift feel. Well worth the money IMHO.

Try turning the key on, one window at at time...
Try turning the key on, one window at at time lower them and hold the switch down for about 10 secs, then raise them & hold. This will reset the upper & lower memory on the windows.
