I'm just saying legally they are supposed to look and do a visual inspection. We look, especially since they have been cracking down on our area here. We charge extra to remove the covers to inspect....

I am assuming that at rest the AOS is closed and fumes cannot enter the intake. But if the diaphragm is torn the smoke will pass thru the broken diaphragm and enter the intake.
