That is exactly what I did. I changed my 2003 986 cluster to a 2002 996 cluster and adjusted the miles on the 996 cluster to match the actual miles on my boxster.:)

Just changed oil to 20W50 and got a full number on the gage. Instead of idling at 1/2 bar I now idle at 1 1/2 bar.:D
