Identification of a loose hose?

Can anybody tell me if this is just a drain tube or is supposed to be connected to something, it is coming out of the base of the cap to the right of it, maybe powersteering overflow?

Blinking Red LED at the Temp Gauge

Does any one know what it means when the Red LED is blinking at the Temp Gauge, and the temp is reading around 180. 2001 Boxster S, 53,200 miles.

Is this true of the K&N Filter?

I was under the impression theat this was the best filter on the market. I have noticed that the car runs a hell of a lot better with it.
