Yes I removed them...
they just snap into the bumper from the back side. I did have to remove the bumper but that coincided with cleaning the radiators so it all worked out. You could probably paint them with them...

I use mothers back to black and lexol vinyl spray.
Both work pretty well but they do not last forever. I usually have to work it into the plastic to get it to really take hold....just simply wiping over it with the stuff does not work as well. I have...
