I have the same setup, motor just disconnected and fuse pulled along with the dash light removed. The Porsche TSB shows leaving it in also.

My thought is the cable would break before the plastic worm gear, take a drill and put on other end of cable and back it out of the worm gear don't pry out or you will strip the gear.
