Did you use anything to strip off the present wax/protectant off before you used the claybar?

Not sure what some use (dishwashing detergent like "Dawn" or something) to remove the wax buildup...

FWIW,

I don't have access to the materials within the throttle body, which means I cannot validate my response...

It's probably not a good idea to use a "generic" carb cleaner on the throttle...
