Just saw this thread that the Fred wheel centers might be coming back. If so, I'm in! Whatever color most closely matches the color of typical aluminum wheels.

Simple Green for wheel cleaning?

Has anyone ever tried Simple Green for cleaning wheels? I've been using the Sonax Plus, and it works great! However, having 5 cars to maintain and at $25 a bottle, I wouldn't mind saving a few bucks...

I bought a 987 with a dead Porsche battery that had been sitting for months. It was as dead as Abe Lincoln - it showed NOTHING, it had the same electrical capabilities as a tree stump . Charged it up...

Sent you a PM from a fellow Houston resident. The rain was crazy. Unless you live here you don't understand how quickly the rain can accumulate on the street. My street went from wet to 18" deep in...

I sold my 2002 S model, std. trans, black over savannah beige, about 100K miles if I remember for $2300. It had intermix, turned out to be a cracked cylinder. Needed an engine. That's about all...

No, they screw in from the outside just like a spark plug. You'd see the hex shaped area where the wrench fits to it just like a spark plug. What he's got there is bizarre looking. It almost looks...

I own a 2005 Boxster S, and perhaps can lend some of what I have learned to the conversation. 2005 is the "oddball" year in the 986/987 progression. It's a crapshoot on the IMS bearing. It could be...

OK, you win. I give up. OBVIOUSLY I meant repair. Sure, we can argue over the use of the words maintenance vs. repair, however I believe everyone else got that. You probably did too. Some people just...

Sure, I'll be happy to give my opinion on that. From an OPERATIONAL/DRIVING perspective, I found the 2002 986S that I owned to be more raw (in a good way), lighter and tossable. The 2005 987.1 S that...

I was hoping someone would mention that. I don't know how to get the forum host/moderators ear, but it would be a terrific idea to have a subforum on here for 987 Boxsters.

986 vs. 987 - Commonalities and differences?

I now own a 2005 Boxster S - a 987. Prior to this I owned a 2002 Boxster S 986. From a number of perspectives, the 986 spoiled me. Now make no mistake, I actually like the 987 better for what I use...

Will a 986 6 speed Boxster S shifter cradle/mount bolt right into a 987 Boxster S?

I have a quick question for you guys, I hope you don't mind, as it's a 986 AND 987 question. I had a Ben's short shifter in my old 986. I blew the engine in that car, and bought a 987 Boxster S...
