FYI - the fix for me was replacement of the after cat O2 sensor on bank 2. (drivers side US, passenger side UK)

A weak battery can cause all kinds of strange behavior. Check the carpet under the driver seat for water
If dry, then replace the battery. If problem persists, then replace the ignition switch.

GT3 console delete. Might not be for everyone but it has transformed the car for me. Both comfort and heel-toe ability improved immensely.

Ahh I did not have this problem. Sorry for assuming you weren't aware of the hex in the set screw. Sounds like you improvised and figured it out.

If you are trying to do what I think you are... STOP and NOTE: the threaded portion of the bearing cup shaft has a hex on the end of it (6mm I think) to hold it while tightening the nut.
