I have not checked for that. But, a broken belt wouldn't have shut down the engine, would it? I would think it would illuminate the alternator light and the temperature gauge would start climbing?

Finding a good engine is the challenge. Might be better to take the hit and sell rather than spend money...

2001 Boxster. Driving to Okteenerfest Porsche 914 event in NC. Almost there (10 miles out) and heard a rattle. Dash lit up, engine shut down and that was it. Just turned 68,000 miles. Don't know...
