Upon closer inspection and for full disclosure, the foam speaker surrounds are dry-rotted. Again can’t seem to get a pic uploaded. I understand this is fixable.

I did not remove the wiring to the receiver/amp. You will need a new connection kit... Pelican used to have them, and eBay.

Thanks for the well wishes. It's been trailered to the trans shop; I got the gasket/filter kit from Pelican, and 10 liters of Pentosin fluid. Fingers crossed now.

How much is too much? I'd say it does obstruct your rear view to a degree (maybe 10%?), but it doesn't bother me. Like others have said, you can tell the difference at first but then you get used...
