The oblong plugs should work, given that the HVAC box is based on the Golf 4.

I looked at photos from when I repaired it on mine. It looks like the kit should close up everything in the box.

For HPDEs with PCA, the standard protection is sufficient to pass requirements. Not sure for other organizations. Brey-Krause has an extension to allow passage of the “broomstick test”, I believe.

I think that may be a misprint. Terminal 85 on the relay/block is the ground for that circuit. Can’t locate a 31 in the diagram.

Couldn’t hurt to trace that ground to GP8.
