Yup - they're an option and the main purpose is to reduce cabin buffeting at speed. My car didn't come with them but I purchased them and installed them.

I'm looking for more info on the 987...

Also, any recommendations for the rear bumper cover? Any way to remove the warts? Mine got clipped so I want to take advantage of the opportunity to change things up.
