Any Seattle Area owners?
Any Seattle area Boxster owners on here?
I just bought mine in November and love it. |
Welcome Gary. There are many Seattle area Boxster owners here. You made a good choice with the Boxster. They are fun to drive. I'd encourage you to check out the Pacific NW Porsche Club at www.pnwr.org. They have many great avenues to really enjoy your car from social events to tours to autocross and track days.

Welcome SeattleBoxers! There is a great calendar of events scheduled: http://www.pnwr.org/calendar07/default.asp

Great!
Glad to see there are some locals on here!
I haven't decided if I'm going to join the Porsche Club, because I'm already a member of three other (Ferrari, Alfa, Fiat) local car clubs that keep me pretty busy. |
We have a great local group. Since I moved here2.5 years ago many of these guys have become lifelong friends. Here is a thread from 6speed on our cars&coffee from yesterday. Start at page 4 or 5.

Welcome Spinnaker, congrats on your car. It is so nice out today. Could be the first topdown day of the year.

Not Seattle, but neighbor to the North, Vancouver, BC Canada
I have a 2001 Midnight Blue Boxster
|
I've had my 2001 for a little over a year and absolutely love it. Now you've got to join PNWR. As said before, they have some great activities and people.

I'm in Astoria Oregon
Hey I would be interested in any activities you might have in the PNW. I live in Astoria Oregon for those who don't know I am at the mouth of the Columbia River. I bought a 2008 RS 60 Spyder which is the commerative edition of the 1960 Spyder race car. Great car and cannot wait for the weather to change so I can take her out. Hi my first post! wooop wooop ;o)
just bought a 1998 Silver Boxster in great condition and love it already! the payload capacity of both the front and rear has surprised me no end, as has the MPG it is returning! Buying a car seat from Porsche to deactivate the airbag along with the deactivation bar was a bit pricey mind! haha I'm English but live in Seattle, be great to catch up with any fellow members... how good is the PNWR? is it worth the membership fees? The names David by the way... ;o) |
Hello!
Greetings from the Pacific Northwest! I am a bit north of Seattle situated on Whidbey Island in Oak Harbor. Any fellow Islanders?

Does anyone know of a local place that would do a Pedro Sports exhaust for a good price?

You get up to the Great North much? |
Hi all. I was did the entire WWSCC slush series this year. I have had my Boxster for a year now and have been lurking around on this site for a while.
Were any of you with that group on the hood canal two weeks ago? I was up there for an event in Quilcene. It was really cool to see a Carrera GT in the wild! I'm in the South Sound area (Lacey). |
Seattle Area Boxster Owners
I am a new Boxster Owner, and Porsche Club of America, Northwest Region. Just got my 2007 Midnight Blue, Boxster S (only 16K on it, like brand new!).
I love it, but not the ticket I got a week ago on my way to Palm Springs. :( Anyone have any ideas on how the Escort 9500ix works on a Boxster without taking up too much windshield view? |
I'm also a new Boxster owner - Lapis Blue 2001 S. So far I love it. I own a few BMWs also and this car is the most fun you can have, clothed. Or not depending on your preferences. :)
I'm in Puyallup so looking for things in the South end. Thinking about starting a coffee and cars event down here. Joined PCA and am joining the PNW club also. Looking forward to meeting everyone. |

Your Lapis Blue doesn't look much different than my Midnight Blue. There may already be a Porsche Boxster Club here in the Northwest. If not, am more than willing to be a part of a "Coffee and Cars" event, or Porsche Club event here in the NW. I live in Seattle and Palm Springs (a bit older than you, 65 in July). Let me know if you'd like to connect. Spence :) |
Thanks Spence.
I definitely want to do a 'coffee and cars' type event for the South of Seattle. So, here's what I'm thinking. There are events on the weekend but they're all in the North end (University Village and North) except for one on Wednesday nights in Tacoma. I'm thinking that Federal Way would be a good location at The Crossings shopping center (Hwy 18 & Pacific Hwy, just 1 block off I-5). There's a Starbucks there, a McDonalds, a Subway sandwich and Jamba Juice (something for everyone). Sunday mornings, 9am to 11am, starting in May and running to around October. All cars are welcome even if it's the family mini van. If this sounds like a good plan, I'll coordinate it with the property owners and get it started. I know I can't use 'Coffee and Cars' because it's trade marked so I'm calling it: Cars and Caffeine. I'll probably still get in trouble, but I'm always in trouble somewhere so I don't care. :) Comments, suggestions, whatever are gladly accepted. Quote:

Hey, Joe,
I'll be able to start scheduling some "fun time" around late May, so let's connect then. I hope that you're having as much fun driving your new ride as I am! http://www.986forum.com/forums/images/icons/icon7.gif Quote:

Please vote.
I'm still getting opinions from other groups but here's what I've learned.
It seems that there is interest in a South End gathering on the weekend with about half and half for Saturday or Sunday. No one has expressed a interest in early (7am to 8am) and most seem to like starting at 8am to 9am. Federal Way has been the overwhelming location, followed by Tacoma. So, here are two scenarios that I think may work: 1) Sunday morning, 8am to 10am @ the Starbucks in The Crossings shopping center in Federal Way. Take the Hwy 18 exit off I-5, head West for 1 block. There's plenty of parking. The majority of business' don't open until 11. There's Starbucks, McDonalds and maybe other food places open also. One good thing is this seems to be a good location for people South and those up to Burien. 2) Krispy Kreme at Tacoma Mall. Again it has good access from the freeway and who doesn't like KK. I didn't find any dedicated, gourmet coffee places nearby, but there might be. There is already car meets there and Tacoma Mall doesn't seem to mind as long as they are civilized and there aren't any problems. Here's what I'd like to see people vote on. 1. Saturday or Sunday morning 2. Federal Way or Tacoma Mall 3. Weekly or monthly (I'm leaning to weekly to allow people to come when they can. Weekly opens more opportunities) My tentative date for the first meet is May 15 or 16 and running from 8am to 10am or 11am? Sinners and saints are welcome. ;) Post your preferences and we'll get this going as soon as possible. Also when we have a place, date & time, let others know since I have a limited list of clubs that I'm also posting this on. Looking forward to seeing some of you. |
