Anyone here running an aftermarket dry sump?

If so it would be great if you will share some info as I'm thinking of a DIY installation. I will of course share any info with the group as I move along, but currently it's only a feasability study.

Checkout boxsterdrysump.wordpress.com, not a DIY but it has some pictures and discussion. Also search rennlist for m96 dry sump, there is a guy that made one, I'll dig the thread up Monday.

Thanks for helping
I've thought about buying that system but it is out of my reach, unfortunately. I respect Chris' decision to not share details of his system. He has put enormous amounts of time and effort into it.

Instead I'm hoping I might learn a thing or two from those who have no commercial interests to safeguard.

The main issue seems to be where to mount the pump. I believe it must be as low as possible to scavenge well. This seems to rule out the most obvious location where the AC compressor used to be.

I think the pump can be high as long as it is the right kind. The thread on rennlist uses the stock pump and I think feeds it from a tank, and the scavenge pump is either electric or run from the ac pulley. I'll find that thread Monday for you.

I just got an email from Bill Daily who confirms that the pump can sit on top. I'll be looking forward to reading the thread.

(MOD: If a mod sees this it would be more appropriate in the tech forum. Please move it if possible. )
