UroTrash's RMS repair

I, like many of you suffer from the dreaded “RMS Leak Syndrome”.

Until now, the only solution was a $900 repair necessitating a major service at the stealership.

Being a very technical as well as creative sort, I have analyze the problem and have come up with a solution for approximately half of that price.

Step1.

I drew out my plan and was very careful to follow the blueprint EXACTLY. PLEASE NOTE: This blue print is copyrighted by me and may not be used with out my expressed permission. So don’t even think about it.

Step2.

You will need a supply of high grade material such as that in the picture. I have taken literally days to assemble this supply, what with Christmas shipping coming up.

UroTrash 12-18-2006 04:03 PM

Step 3.

After selecting an appropriate material donor, us a sharp instrument to remove all the parts that do not look like a RMS repair as I have done in the following pictures. Note: Follow the blueprint EXACTLY, or close.

Addendum: Why these 3 piccies don't show, I don't know.

Step 4.

Examine the garage floor carefully until you discover the tell-tale signs of the RMS leak, pictured

UroTrash 12-18-2006 04:05 PM

Step 5.

Place you RMS repair device OVER the spots on the floor. Placing it elsewhere in the garage will result in a suboptimal result. See pic.

Step 6.

Check in 3 days to see if the repair worked properly as illustrated with my prototype repair, pictured

Step. 7

Boxster in proper repair position.

I hope you could follow this repair. If it seems too complicated, just review it a few more times and you may PM me with any questions.

Finally, as a courtesy to fellow members of this forum, I will make the copyrighted blueprint available for $99.95 plus shipping, and the completed kits for $450.00 plus shipping, half the cost of the stealership repair.

I can make kits for other high end cars as well, please PM for prices.

Good one! See, THAT is why you went to medical school!

Grizzly 12-18-2006 04:11 PM

Dude, you so need a patent attorney.

This is not really a repair. It's just a cardboard placed under the car and you're asking too much for it. You'll get much more traction with it if you price it under $200.

$200!!??? This is a Porsche repair not a Civic repair.

Does anyone know what the shipping cost would be to Canada?? It looks like a cracking solution.

CJ_Boxster 12-18-2006 04:59 PM

Great Write-Up!!!

I'm most interested in your 8 step process for ironing and folding white underwear (a.k.a "tightie whities"). Do you have a website or patent pending for this?

You should have had a 'Non-Disclosure' form w/ this message. I fear someone will be stealing your well thought out idea and running w/ it makeing $$$$ that you deserve.

You need a good lawyer to help you through this.

I'd be happy to provide those services for a minimal retaining fee.

:D :) :D :) :D

This looks like free advertising. Didn't we just beat the crap out of some guy for not following the proper procedure of becoming an official vendor on this forum?

Real car owners let the oil drip on the floor.

The floor!? This sounds like even better repair and tough competition to Uro's solution. How much (with shipping)?

Z.

Dang!

The market will prob be flooded with cheap Chinese knock-offs in a month. :(

I guess I need to order a stamp (likely made in China) that reads "proudly made in USA" to stamp my high quality repair systems.

That's funny!

Could you make another version of this product for right-hand-drive cars? I'm wondering if people in the UK might have RMS leaks too.

Building on David"s input, what about front engine and rear engine vehicles. Could your R&D people come up with some type of adaptor or something for those as well? I can imagine an entirely new cottage industry here.

You can make a cottage out of cardboard? Now that's creative.

Thanks for the laugh, Uro.

While not a cottage, an Australian feller named Goober over on FerrariChat built a whole office out cardboard , worth a free registration just to see this thread:

I think my RMS is Defective.. :(

I think my RMS repair is defective. :(:(:(:(

It has been on the floor for 15 days and not a single drop is on it.

How could that happen?

The car was dripping pretty good before, and now BONE DRY.

And yes before you say it, there is still oil in the crankcase!

Weird.
