Audi V8 choice
 

For my project I am looking at which Audi V8 to mount. It seems like the ABZ is the regular choice, but low mileage engines don't seem to appear overhere. So I previously considered the BBK which I can get in low mileage, but seeing that they are a bit fragile (chain) and have limited application (only the S4), prices are going up.

So the kind of engine that seem logical to me are the Audi BFM and the VW BGH. Especially the BGH is rather cheap in low mileage. These are the new engine generation (079, like the BBK) but with timing belt instead of chain. Still running the ME7.1.1 ECU, so that should work. Any input on these engines are others I should consider?

The project is progressing. New gearbox is in with just the exhaust left to finish. Rear-end of the car is rebuild; brakes and suspension. Aftermarket alarm is removed, PCM removed and center console cleared by moving Clima up and installing a new radio. AC has been removed.

Next up will be the front-end of the car with a suspension refresh and move to electrical power steering pump (Opel, Volvo, ...) Also need to sort out the ABS (either sensor interface or replacing the 5.3 ABS with the 5.7). In about a year the V8 puzzle should begin.
