2003 Boxster S Newly installed Clutch System not Disengaging
At 60K miles, I purchased the Pelican Super Kit for this model ,plus a new Clutch Master and Slave Cylinder. The IMS bearing was previously replaced at 50K miles.
Flywheel, Clutch and Pressure Plate was replaced with new parts and fasteners, all torqued to spec. The transmission throw-out bearing guide tube, throw-out bearing, transmission seal, pivot pin, pivot pin retainer, seat and clip and release lever, and transmission fluid replaced. The new Clutch Master Cylinder was installed, new DOT-4 and new Slave Cylinder was installed. Pressure bled the system per Porsche procedure. After reassembly, everything torqued to spec and bleeding, the hydraulic system the clutch failed to operate. The shift could not be forced into gear. It appears the clutch plate is not releasing from the from the flywheel. After rechecking every part and completing the 90 second bleed down, I could use some suggestions. |
This sounds like the problem a friend had... turned out that he had installed the throw out bearing backwards.
