Suspension Refresh - worth it ?
Hi - My name is Gary and I'm a newbie here in the Porsche world and this forum .
I recently purchased a Boxster 03 plate 2.7 Tiptronic . I bought the vehicle form a classics car dealership to throw some money and love at it and enjoy it . Is it worth s suspension refresh to re establish the original factory Porsche experience? If so , how mush would it cost and does anyone know any specialist in NW England that would offer such an upgrade ? Thanks in advance . G  |
In my case it was definitely worth it, but my struts were shot. You could push down on a corner of the car and it would rock back and worth because I was basically riding on springs. With the new suspension it doesn't move at all when pushed.
Price wise....I'd rather forget about how much I spent hahaha. |
Absolutely worth it on my '99 with 67000 miles.Struts, bump stops ,tie rod ends and EVERY component that had rubber in it, front and rear. All the rubber "bushings" (they are not bushings because the parts are vulcanized together) were cracked too some extent.
After a four wheel alignment it was totally quiet, rode and drove oh so much better. I did the work and had a Porsche specialist do the alignment. I don't remember the exact cost but between 4 and 5 thousand and takes a couple of special tools. Totally worth it! |
