For all eBay short shift kit owners-
This was taken from a post toolpants posted on Rennlist;
"The B&M version and oem shift lever both have a bend to the right so that the shift lever points straight up when in neutral. But it looks like the B&M clone on ebay has the bend to the left. I can see it in the picture. Machster simply removed the nut and bolt, removed the lever from the blue housing, rotated the lever 180 degrees, and put it back together so that the bend is to the right where is should be. A simple fix for a simple screw up at the factory. I have not seen the ebay clone in person. But it looks identical to the B&M unit (except for the lever issue). For $55 I do not know how you can go wrong. It has 2 set screws, while B&M has 1, so use just 1." Hmm sounds like the manufacturer made this "mistake" to make sure no legal actions were taken against them from B & M. So I guess it really is just a clone. Just thought I would post this to let you know how to get your shift levers straight up if any of you have this issue. I found while doing some recon work on shift kits. |
I have the clone and have to say I like my shaft bent to the left.
|
I liked mine to the left too, but I changed it. I like it better now, just something about position is nicer.
|
No other issues with the clone? I was thinking of picking one up too...
