Engine removal

I'm going to remove the engine for overhaul.
During the removal, I'll disconnect the battery, BUT is it a bad idea to re-connect the battery after the engine is removed in effort to close the roof and to lock the car?
Thanx in advance for all help

Garage
I reconnected it for the same reasons. The positive cable at the engine compartment is completely exposed though when the engine is not in place, so make sure it won`t touch the chassis. As I recall I wrappped it in a rug or something to prevent that. I also disconnected the battery after closing the roof.
