Headlight H7 LED bulbs

It would appear that that LED bulb technolgy is galloping in leaps and bounds.

Have any tried H7 LED "bulbs" for the high beam and fogs?

I think the fogs will be tricky as the plug is well inside the housing.

I have been using LED bulbs in my Fogs for about 5 years. I leave them on all of the time as DRL's.

What brand and model are you using? Do they require drivers and can the boxes fit through the fog light hole/plug?

How is the driving road and Porsche scene in Peterborough?

I ordered them off of Ebay- maybe $8 for the pair. My Ebay history only goes back to 2020 - so I can't find the order anymore. They are plug and play without any driver.

We have some good twisty scenic roads north of here. Not too many Porsches of any flavor around.

Yet no reputable bulb manufacturer offers an LED H7 replacement.

Some hucksters go so far as the counterfeit the packaging.

From the Candlepower forum ... https://www.candlepowerforums.com/forums/automotive.87/

Be mindful that there are a lot of bad ideas and bad products in the vehicle lighting world. All of them are hyped and promoted as great ideas. CPF Rule 11 is particularly important here because of the safety concerns with motor vehicles and their lighting.
This means (among other things):

Homemade headlamps, taillamps, stop lamps, turn signals, fog lamps, etc, are not safe, effective, or legal. We will not help you build or troubleshoot them. We will not argue this point.
"HID kits", "LED conversions", and "projector retrofits" aren't safe, effective, or legal. If you have one and it's not working, we're not going to help you fix it. (If you have one and you think it's working, it's not; get it off your vehicle before someone gets hurt). We will not argue this point.
Only very few of the "LED bulbs" for non-headlamp/non-foglamp use available on the market work safely and effectively; most of them are unsafe junk. The ones FOR headlamp/foglamp use are ALL unsafe junk. We will not argue this point. See here and here for two examples of "LED drop-ins" that are not legitimate, no matter how hyped on eBay and no matter how rave the reviews for them are.

I like playing the trolling devil's advocate...

I have led h7s for low and high beam.

No, they are not perfect.

No, they are not legal.

Yes, LEDs are FAR better than what they were several years ago.

Yes, there is still absolute junk being sold but also some relatively decent products

Yes, I STRONGLY prefer them to the oem incandescent bulbs (which were so God awful that I couldn't see **************** without my fog lights on)

I've been running then for 2 years now, acuma (high beam) and Firehawk (low beam). No overheating, no flickering, no dimming. Once aligned properly, they illuminate beautifully (this is crucial though because there are defects in the light fields created by these bulbs). CRI is not as good as incandescent, I will fully admit that, but I care far more about detecting moving objects(i.e. DEER) than I do about color differentiation (yes, I know the two properties are linked intrinsically with visual processing, but they are not inherently dependent on one another. Ask any person who is color blind).

Would I do it again? Absolutely. Hell, I still have my stock bulbs but I wouldn't even put them in my kids hot wheels.

I'm not debating, I'm just saying...

I've had LEDs in the fogs with the DRL mod for years with no problems
I converted the hi/lows to HID years ago, before there were good LED options.

I have LEDs in my F-150 for couple of years as well with no issues
