clutch pedal stuck to floor, sqealing noise from clutch area
Over the past few months there's been a slight whining noise when depressing the clutch in my 2001 Boxster S. Had some kind of major failure last week when clutch stuck to the floor there's and a high-pitched squeal coming from the clutch area now when the car runs in neutral. Does that sound like a failed pilot bearing?

Your car is showing the classic signs of throw-out bearing failure. It is also called the clutch release bearing. |
Thanks blue62. I'm hoping the rest of the clutch is okay cause it only has about 26,000 kilometers on it.

probably best to not run it even in neutral..... could cause more damage to clutch components. It may be as simple as "just" a throw out bearing issue. If you do you own work there is just labor involved in removing and replacing it. Not an expensive part in relative terms. |
