Pros/cons of bypass pipes vs. sport cats?

Thinking of either sport cats or cat bypass pipes, but not sure which one to consider. Do both offer similar power gains and sound increases? Are adding sports cats street legal whereas cat bypass only for off road use? Thoughts? TIA

I dont think you'll feel much power with either mod, A muffler shop once told me just before i asked them to replace my cats with test pipes on my other car... They said cats only make 2% less flow than without. I said **************** that, Do it anyway!.. turns out hes right. noise was different, i wont say better or worse but it was different.
