Aftermarket Park Assist

I did a search and didn't come up with anything pertinent, so, has anyone installed an aftermarket (or OEM) park assist system to their Boxster?

well they have new systems on the market now. comes with a little tv/monitor
and a little camera that you attach to the rear bumper. maybe you could look into this type of park assist device. i saw it on tv the other day, if i see it again, i'll get the name. it was a park assist camera.

Thanks for the reply. The Boxster is mainly driven by my wife and she is used to the park assist feature of our Audis. And, I have to admit, the limited visibility of the Boxster when backing up is a challenge.

I don't think a video assist is necessary, just the ultra-sonic, radar type would be fine if they can be relatively easily installed and look decent.

I like the "replacement back-up sensors" in case you've damaged yours.

Well now, if I've damaged my back-up sensors, they weren't really working all that well now were they?

Seriously, I never knew they were available aftermarket. We have them on our Explorer and we really like them.

I have a park assist and as a matter of fact I have a brake assist, steering assist, lane changing assist, backing assist and so on. MY WIFE for some reason feels she needs to assist in all aspects of my driving from the passanger seat.

Your wife obviously went to the same school for backseat driver's that my wife went to and graduated from with honors, btw!

Good thing she did though. I almost broadsided a Mini this morning. If it were not for her screeching from the passenger seat, I would be posting all the gorey details.

So it's the good with the bad I guess.

LMAO! :)) Good one Ohio. Sometimes you just have to leave the wife/girlfriend at home if you want to go for "spirited" drive.

Thanks for the info, everyone. Looks like there are definitely some options out there. I am going to check with my Porsche dealer about installation. My rudimentary skills would most likley result in a poor installation.

Thanks again!

Get some curb feelers! I think they have come a long way in the last 30 years... ;)
