Digital Speedometer display problem

I have what looks like a scratch on my display. I'm not sure how else to describe it. It's always there regardless of the speed display.
Has anyone else seen something like this? I'm not sure if there's a fix short of replacing this part of the cluster (if that's even possible).

Seems a common thing. There are replacement screens out there (don't know whether all specific versions are) which you can solder into the current cluster.

Mine did that one winter. Cleared up once the weather warmed up. I learned here on the forum that it might clear up in warmer weather.

Bill, down here in Florida, it's usually warm so I'm not sure that's the issue. It'd be great if it was though!

The next sunny day with temps in the 60's or higher park the car outside . Put the top down and park the car so the sun is hitting the dash . You want the sun to be lined up to hit the gauge faces .

After a few hours fire up the car . If the LCD " spot " hasn't disappeared then you are past the point of it self healing . Replacement of the screen is the next option or just live with it .

Yep. You were right. It's almost completely gone. Just one little spot left.

Good deal! Mine got pretty bad one winter a few years back. Soon as it warmed up outside it went away. Hasn’t reappeared since.

I would do the sun routine a few more times to see if it completely heals . I have read plenty of cases where this fixed the issue . But I have never seen any comments regarding the longevity of the repair.
