Replacing front air vent?

My front right air vent has faded quite a bit. It's now grey instead of black and although it may match my Seal Grey nicely, I want to replace it with a new black vent.

Does anyone know how to do this and is it easy? Or do I have to take off the bumper?

Thanks.

Eric

The bumper has to be removed;

Call Sunset Imports, talk to their Porsche Parts department,both sides are $35(California discount).

Hi,

You might try painting them instead of replacing them. If you replace only one, you may notice a difference between the two. Replacing both is gonna be a little spendy.

There are now special paints used to paint this type of plastic (well there have been for awhile, but not available to the Public). Krylon's Fusion Paint Brand is made for this purpose and doesn't chip, fade or crack, and if you do them both, they'll match perfectly. See it here: http://www.krylon.com/main/product_template.cfm?levelid=5&sub_levelid=10&prod uctid=1751&content=product_details Hope this helps...

Happy Motoring!... Jim'99

You do need to jack the car up though.

Removing the bumper is suprisingly easy. It's basically a bunch of small screws. Then it slides straight forward and off. Just as easy to put back on. It's totally possible to do with 1 person, but a have a second person handy for simplicity's sake.
