Wheel Spacers
 

Been thinking about putting wheel spacers on my 'S' to get a wider track and fill out the wheel arches.

Does anyone out there have spacers on their car? If so, what brand of spacer, width of spacer, and tire size are you using?

I have the Porsche 5mm spacer kit all around from the Anniversary edition car. I am running the Sport Techno's 18" wheels with 10" rears and 8" fronts. You can see some photos of my car in the show and tell section by scrolling down to the bottom with the new wheels and spacers on. :)

I was looking at the 7mm set from H&R. They make some nice stuff. But factory spacers sounds like good stuff too.

Did you get them from a Porsche dealer? How much per pair? Any signs of rubbing the wheelwell? Are you happy with them?

Check the photos I mentioned. I like them! They are around $300 for the set from Suncoast with the lug nuts and locks. The fronts rub a tiny bit on the well when you turn the wheel all the way but it could be because I went with a slightly wider wheel and the tires are brand new. It's touching by a single mm or so. I wouldn't go with more than 5mm since the rears will stick out too much!

That's a beautiful ride! Those wheels look great and the tires do fill out the wheelwells. What size tires are you running front & rear?

Thank you for the kind words! :D I forgot that my signature has a link to the photos as well. The fronts are 225/40/18 and the rears are 265/35/18. I have a set of 18" Turbo Twists with the same tires on them for sale cheap if you know anyone interested. :)

I run 5mm up front, 17mm at back on 18" sportdesigns and ROW030 suspension. All from factory / Tequipment. Looks great, handles as a dream. Look at the following link for pictures:

Those sound like pretty big spacers in the rear. What size tires are you running front & back?

Front: 225/40/zr18
Rear: 265/35/zr18

Pirelli P zero asym.

Standard tires which came with the Tequipment Sportdesign rims

If you look at the Tequipment specs. they specify the max. Porsche allowed spacers. In the 2000 or 2001 they specified for the 18" sportdesigns 5mm front / 17mm back (my setup). In other years they specify 5mm front & rear as max.

As said. Like my setup. Handles very good. Did not do anything to the car body / inside wheel arces.

Thanks for the info Mark. Those are the same tires and wheel sizes I have on my car.

I'm just trying to decide wether to put spacers on the car or go with 235/275 tires.

I use 5mm all around because I am running the Sport Techno's which are slightly wider and they also have a larger offset than the Sport Design's. 17mm on my wheels would look ridiculous as they would come out way too much.
