Should my 2.7 sound like a Super Charger ?

I have been driving around town without the cockpit carpet installed (the thick insulated one) So you can hear through the access panel as I go thru the gears shifting at 55-6 K it sounds just like a super charger ?? Normal I presume Thanks Frank

When I have my clear engine cover on in my CSS, the engine makes a kind of unpleasant whooshing sound in the higher rpm ranges. Not sure I would call it a super charger sound, but you defn don't hear it with the factory alum cover and carpet.
