Transmission ?coolant? line

On my 2000 box base there is a small blue hose on the driver's side of the lower engine bay that runs to anrybber hose followed by aluminum foil which enters into the top in the transmission housing (pic below). What is this line? Why the coil? Im contemplating rerouting of intake piping and this is the only thing stopping me from dropping it down behind the motor here.

In any hard line the "coil" is to absorb vibration so the line does not crack.;)
