Replacement Exhaust Tips

I just purchased a 2001 'S' with the performance exhaust option. It has the exhaust tips with the non-concentric opening and differing radius perfrorations surrounding it. The tips look to be tack welded to the muffler.

I would like to remove them and go with a pair of simple round tips. Does anyone sell the simple tips I'm looking for?

Thanks in advance.

Post a picture of your muffler. Sounds like you have the sport exhaust but the tips also have the bypass pipes welded to the tips. Then we can see what you have.

You can try and see if the Supersprint 90mm dia tips will fit on the stock exhaust muffler. It will require some work but, they look much better then the stock 986S look.

I haven't figured out how to post a pic yet, but I can say it's the same exhaust as Porscheboy has on his car. There look to be bypass tubes that start at the front of the muffler, swing around its perimeter, and tee into the base of the exhaust tips. Since there is no switch in the car, I assume the bypass mechanically activates when you put your foot in it.

Anyway, with the tee being only a couple inches in from the end of the current tips, I don't think retrofitting a large round tip would look too good. Maybe I'll make a quick set from some three inch tube and mock it up. Or maybe I'll just grow to love the current ones. It does sound nice from about 4200 rpm on up!
