IMS Question (its not what you think!)

I just finished the IMS swap during a clutch job and have something I haven't seen mentioned in any of the videos, articles, etc.
Did all the steps, Ill comment on some stuff a little later, simple lessons learned I saw no mention before. Nothing unusual happened, everything came loose, popped out, went back in, no weird clanks, etc.

Heres what's up...I removed the tensioners, no problem. When I went to reinstall, I had to compress them to get them back in...wasnt unbearable, but took a little muscle. Is this normal?
I wasn't expecting this at all. Anyone else able to assure me everything is fine?

I experienced the same thing when I installed the timing chain tensioners after changing the IMS bearing on my 2005 Boxster S.
