Foot well light question

I've had footwell lights installed for a few years, but want to tidy up and redo the installation so that it's more OEM, and allows bulb swaps as opposed to just slapping some adhesive SMD strips under there, like it currently is.

I plan on cutting two holes, one in each footwell, for two lamps that are the same as the trunk lights. The front trunk hole will act as a template.

Cutting into the passenger footwell's foam is fine, but the drivers footwell is the cabin heater airflow pipe (UK here). Either way, I have two questions:

I have two questions though:

- Will the heat from the heater pipe in the footwell be a problem for the wiring/bulbs if the bulb and wires are inside of the pipe? I can't imagine they'd get that hot to cause an issue? I've put an LED light in my oven before and that's been fine (though probably not recommended).

- I want to fit an in-line fuse on the wire of the footwell lights, in case any future owner of the car fits a halogen bulb in the footwell lights I'll be installing, and overloads the wiring. It happened on my last car when I put a normal 501 W5W halogen bulb in the footwell as opposed to an LED, and it blew the courtesy light module. If so, positive wire for the fuse? And same amp as the fuse for the lights I'm jumping from?

Thank you! Stay safe everyone.
