replacing shifter cables on 2001 Boxster S
I'm thinking about replacing the shifter cables on my Boxster S (136,000 kilometers). The shift action is kinda ropey and imprecise. I had the cables adjusted by a Porsche mechanic which improved things a bit, but I hear these cables stretch over time. Anybody have any experience with this? Is this a proven route to improve shift action in older cars?

And if you REALLY want to improve shifter feel, couple your new cables with Ben Nenert's (BenAutoDesign) short-shift kit. You'll be glad you did. (I am) |
Having changed cables then shifter on my current car and just shifter on the previous one, you will probably notice the most effect from the shifter.
