Carbon canister and leak detection pump replacement

My mechanic said I need to replace the carbon canister in my '02 Boxster S, the part number is 996 201 221-03, and I notice in the catalog that the 996 201 221 -07 is listed as a replacement part and looks different, and the price varies dramatically, any advice would help.
