2002 Boxster S, AOS question
Hello forum members.
I will try and be as brief and succinct as possible. I had the car on the ramps the other day and noticed an oil damp patch on the drivers side (UK) on the engine just below and coming from the AOS short rubber hose. The car starts and runs fine no white smoke. I have had the car 9 years with no problems just general maintenance. The leak may be coming from the rubber boot or maybe the spigot that goes into the block. Should I go the whole hog and replace the complete AOS at this stage? The boot has a jubilee clip on the bottom were it joins the block so I assume the AOS has been replaced before. What do you guys think? |
I had a similar problem. The tube at the bottom of the AOS had become loose at the engine block allowing some oil to drip. I simply cleaned the area and re-attached the tube properly. No drips since then.
