alarm has a mind of its own!

hey everybody
After locking my 2005 boxster either with the key, or the remote, the alarm goes of after about 5 or 10 mins. The horn honks for awhile, and then the running lights flash until I unlock it.Is it possible to disarm the alarm?
Thanks in advance!

You probably have a moth or other flying insect trapped in the cabin.
Seriously.

Try covering the IR sensors with thick tape and see if the problem goes away. If it does, it was a bug.

While locking, press lock button a second time and you will get a long 'flash' confirmation. This will disable the interior motion sensor.

If it misbehaves again then issue is upstream. If does not repeat issue is interior motion sensor.

Good luck :)
